Multi-Media Review: Salad Days: BH

SALAD DAYS
Another oldie, but quite different, is Salad Days, now at the Vaudeville, where it first started a triumphant West End run decades ago. English whimsical charm is at work here with a lot of sweet and singable songs as two Cambridge students try to find work (some things never change) and start off toting a piano around London streets, making everyone dance. At Wyndham’s Theatre is Skylight, by David Hare, for those seeking serious fare. Despite a depressing raked-over love affair and grim set, it gained favourable notices, but a major reason for seeing this transfer from the National Theatre is its cast.
