Scotland. Doune Castle, which lies between the River Teith and the Ardoch Burn, was built around 1400 AD. It is unusual in that it was built in a single act of construction rather than being added onto by successive residents as most castles were. Today it hosts an annual event inspired by the Monty Python movie.
